Who We Are
The Guild Is An Auxiliary Of The Northern Virginia Urban League (NVUL) Affiliate. Our Purpose Is to Promote An Agenda Which Supports The NVUL, Including Fundraising, Membership And Program Initiatives, But Our Main Focus Is On Activities Involving Our Youth.
What We Do
The NVUL Guild brings together people who are interested in enhancing the quality of life for all people in the community through the promotion of intercultural, interracial, and community service activities. Guilders strongly believe that “Our Children Are Our Destiny” and the primary focus involves activities for our youth.
List of the Activities of The Guild
- Conducting PSAT exam workshops
- Hosting a free five-week SAT workshop for local students
- Awarding a $5,000 scholarship to a local college-bound students
- Service to Northern Virginia communities
Young Professionals Network
Who We Are
The Northern Virginia Urban League Young Professionals Network (YPN) is an auxiliary organization of the Northern Virginia Urban League. YPN was founded in 1999 to identify and develop future leaders of the community. Through a variety of programs and community service initiatives, YPN supports the mission of the Northern Virginia Urban League and fosters young professional development, social consciousness, and civic involvement.
What We Do
Our mission is to engage young professionals in the Urban League Movement toward social and economic empowerment. We also support NVUL’s mission to enable Northern Virginia African Americans and disadvantaged others to secure economic self-reliance, parity, power and civil rights through program services and effective advocacy.
